190 day positionFLSA- ExemptQualificationsSpecial education certification issued by the GaPSCAbility to work with administrators, faculty and staff, students, parents/guardians and the general publicDemonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assignedAlternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptableJOB GOAL: To provide the appropriate instruction for all students assigned to them to maximize the potential of these students.Performance ResponsibilitiesFollow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.Facilitate home-school communication by holding conferences, telephoning and sending written communicationsMaintain confidentiality of students and students' records.Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policiesConduct assigned classes at the times scheduledEnforce regulations concerning student conduct and disciplineProvide adequate information, plans, and materials for a substitute teacherMaintain accurate, complete and appropriate records and files reports promptly.Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policyDemonstrate professional practices in teaching and models correct grammar and usage.Demonstrate accurate and up to date knowledge of contentImplement designated curriculum and ensure students receive all services assignedMaintain lesson plans as required by school policyProtect records, equipment, materials, and facilitiesAssume responsibility for supervising student in out of class settingsAttend all meetings concerning their students and follow Due Process proceduresPerform other duties as needed and assigned by the principal or designee.Demonstrate prompt and in person attendanceFollows the Georgia Professional Standards for Educators
