Manager emphasized that the strongest candidates will understand data, user needs, and cross-team collaboration, not just coding. Must-HavesStrong data modeling experience — logical, physical, conceptual modeling. Strong understanding of SQL vs NoSQL and when to use each. Experience with Big Data concepts/tools; Spark is helpful but not mandatory. Ability to work through database/data model migration or modernization efforts. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration across teams. Tester mindset: able to question gaps, compare models, identify inconsistencies, and validate data. Nice-to-HavesPython Spark experience. Sybase / legacy SQL database migration experience. Experience with proprietary or enterprise data platforms.
