With over 40 years of industry expertise, we continue to develop innovative solutions that empower our users and drive the industry forward.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer to support and operate our QA and production database environments in partnership with engineering and infrastructure teams. This role focuses on SQL Server administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and operational reliability.\nThe ideal candidate has strong hands-on SQL Server experience, enjoys troubleshooting and optimization, and is comfortable supporting production systems with support from senior engineering team members. This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with one in-office day per week. The position follows a standard Monday-Friday schedule with occasional on-call coverage as part of a shared rotation.\nWhat Success Looks Like in This Role\nReliably supporting QA and production SQL Server environments\nCollaborating with engineers to improve database performance and reliability\nResolving common performance and operational issues independently, with support as needed\nParticipating effectively in monitoring, on-call, and incident response\nContinuously improving skills and contributing to documentation and best practices\nKey Responsibilities\nDatabase Operations & Performance\nSupport and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.\nPerform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration updates.\nAnalyze and tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure reliable performance.\nMonitor database health, job execution, and performance trends; respond to alerts and incidents.\nAvailability, Recovery & Reliability\nSupport existing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups.\nParticipate in scheduled failover and disaster recovery testing.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nWork closely with application engineers to review schema changes and optimize queries.\nAssist with database deployments and CI/CD processes.\nMaintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.\nGain exposure to Snowflake and MongoDB environments as needed.\nSkills and Qualifications\n3–6 years of experience supporting SQL Server in a production environment.\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and/or Azure).\nProficiency with T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query tuning.\nExperience with database monitoring, maintenance, and incident support.\nFamiliarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts (e.g., AlwaysOn).\nExposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell or similar).\nUnderstanding of database security and access controls.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nStage Front is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified candidates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
