Job Description
Location: Centennial, CO 80112; The ideal candiate would be in Centennial, CO or surrounding area in order to facilitate easy access to clients and projects. Willingness to temporarily travel to project sites across Colorado with weekend travel home would be preferred. Compensation Range: Compensation range: $27.00 - $45.00 per hour. This position is considered non-exempt under FLSA. This is an estimated pay range. Final pay rate will be determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, job related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.We are looking for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our growing team in Colorado. You will work directly with our construction managers and project engineers to observe and inspect transportation construction projects.About the position...as a Construction Inspector, you should be able to perform the following basics:Developing and maintaining effective and efficient documentation throughout the project in a timely manner including but not limited to writing daily reports (including photos) and summarizing construction activity and other important information for the dayInspecting, monitoring, and evaluating construction work to ensure compliance with all codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and contract/project specifications by reviewing, interpreting, and evaluating plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance, project requirements, and safety regulations, and comparing them with construction in progressEvaluating construction materials (such as concrete, aggregates, pavements, and soils) and measuring dimensions and elevations against construction plans and schematics, etc.Observing and evaluating construction activities for general conformance to contract documentsUsing standard inspection tools including measuring tape, smart level, measuring wheel, soils probe, mobile devices, metering devices, and other test equipment to perform inspectionsPresenting feedback on findings and working collaboratively with others to resolve issuesWearing proper personal protection equipment (PPE)Reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor or member of managementContinuously monitoring compliance with safety, health, and hazard requirements by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions while on construction siteRequirementsIf you are the ideal candidate, you will have the following experience:A minimum of 2 years transportation construction inspection experience with public agencies. Direct experience with Colorado Department of Transportation or Colorado Local Agency projects is preferred.Relevant inspection certificates (e.g., OSHA 10-hr Construction Safety, CDOT Basics, Soils, Asphalt & Concreate Paving, Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor, Work Zone Traffic Control).Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, cloud-based file servers, and GIS asset management softwareExcellent written and oral communication skills including technical writingMature interpersonal skills and problem solving abilityExcellent organizational skillsSelf-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environmentValid drivers license and acceptable driving recordAble to complete tasks while working remotely from equipped vehicle or project field officeTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
