The organization emphasizes disciplined underwriting, speed, and reliable funding for its clients.Role Description The Senior Vice President, Underwriting is responsible for overseeing the final underwriting review and approval process for all loan originations. This role serves as a critical quality-control function between Client Management, Credit, Capital Markets and Funding operations, ensuring that every transaction is accurately underwritten, thoroughly documented and presented with a clear investment narrative to internal and external stakeholders.The SVP, Underwriting will manage the final submission process to investment committees and capital partners, oversee third-party review processes, ensure loan data integrity within the Loan Origination System (LOS) and maintain underwriting quality from signed LOI through funding.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct secondary reviews of underwriting documents to ensure consistency, accuracy and adherence to Company credit policiesManage off-shore due diligence resources and third party review vendorPrepare Investment Committee ("IC") summary that clearly articulate transaction strengths, risks, mitigants and overall credit recommendationsSecure appropriate documentation and approval of any exceptionsLead final loan submission process to Investment Committee and Capital PartnersCoordinate with Client Management, Credit and Closing teams to resolve outstanding issues prior to submission. .Ensure all loan information with the Loan Origination System (LOS) is accurate, complete and consistent with approved credit decisions. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g.,Strong underwriting expertise across real estate credit products, including experience with Underwriting and Mortgage Lending for bridge, renovation, construction, or DSCR loans.Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing and developing underwriting teams and implementing consistent credit processes and standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations clearly to senior leadership, investment committees, and external stakeholders.
