In this role, you will be responsible for modeling slab cost, maintaining optimal inventory levels, forecasting future consumptions, and managing raw material quality and trials. The purpose of this position is to support the lowest cost slab production & working capital while ensuring smooth melt shop operations.\n\nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor or Associate degree in a relevant field\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role\nBasic understanding of melting process preferred\nProficiency in Excel (pivot tables, macros preferred)\nProven project management experience\nDemonstrated experience in process improvements and cost savings initiatives\nDemonstrated leadership experience\nExperience in Operational Process environment\n\nCompetencies and Skills:\nA natural aptitude for mathematics, statistic, and numerical data\nProblem Solving/Analysis and Analytically critical thinker\nData analytics & visualization presentation skills\nAccounting acumen\nRelentless drive for improvement\nStrategic decision making\nCredibility and integrity\nAbility to communicate clearly and active listening\nAbility to communicate clearly and active listening.\nActive team member\nThe ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within your project timeframes\n\nSome of the key activities you will be responsible for:\nPrimary user for Raw Material Optimization software (slab cost modeling)\nDesigns, updates, and maintains inventory reports using spreadsheet/database software such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Office, and internal web based reporting programs. Updates report formats as needed; including month end closing, sales forecast consumption report and Raw Material Stocks.\nMonitor and provide feedback to suppliers on received quality and submit respective reports to all involved parties. Included scope of reporting responsibility, but not limited to: External Scrap, Ferroalloy, Flux, and other Raw Materials.\nResponsibilities specifically aligned with specific departmental objectives and area of expertise.
