You would have led design teams through full product development and into production. As a principal, you will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in a particular area that matches or exceeds the expertise of our customers. You will consult on system architecture, assess technical requirements and competencies needed during quoting and oversee design progressions during product developments.\n\nWhat Will You Do?-\n\nKey technical advisor to customers and the Jabil development team.\n\nLead execution of fast-paced engineering projects, owning delivery from concept through production.\n\nProvide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.\n\nMake critical decisions impacting product quality, features, and customer experience.\n\nWork with Project Managers in the quoting and estimating process.\n\nMentor of all technical/engineering staff.\n\nStay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are competitive and cost effective.\n\nWork with Site Directors to define potential R&D project proposals that will help increase areas of competencies needed.\n\nLead the development and implementation of platform and product architectures in collaboration with senior technical staff.\n\nGuide and oversee the development of system component requirements, interfaces, and specifications necessary to maintain the consistency and integrity of the architectures.\n\nManage product design and documentation at a system level.\n\nEffectively consult on multiple projects in parallel.\n\nDeliver technical presentations, training, and ongoing customer engagement, including regular meetings and onsite support.\n\nSupport global engagement with up to 10% of travel.\n\nHow Will You Get There?-\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required\n\nExperience:\n\nMinimum of 11-12 years of related engineering experience\n\nMinimum of 2 years’ experience as a Lead Engineer\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nExperience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments.\n\nProven ability to work within a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail\n\nKnowledge, Skills Abilities:\n\nExpertise with the architecture, design and configuration and deployment of server, storage and networking systems.\n\nStrong technical skills and the ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.\n\nWorking knowledge of server products including embedded remote management standards, interfaces and applications.\n\nExpertise into all aspects of server and storage system performance, including raw synthetic and application proxy workloads, performance analysis, debug and optimization from the device to the application level.\n\nFacilitation of test results databases and visualization technologies to enable rapid decision making and conclusions.\n\nExpertise with Linux operating systems, related applications and script development.\n\nAbility to travel up to 10% both domestic and International\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nMaster’s degree in engineering or equivalent is preferred\n\nManufacturing, Factory and Assembly experience is a plus\n\nExperience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments is preferred\n\nBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
