While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current responsibilities, the district reserves the right to revise the job as necessitated by operational need.\r\nPerforms a variety of duties in the preparation of, serving, transporting, and cleaning up after meals.\r\nCashier's meals/snack bar.\r\nMay be required to prepare food service receipts.\r\nPerform other duties as assigned.\r\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities\r\nAbility to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lb.).\r\nExperience in handling money and operating a cash register preferred.\r\nAbility to stoop and climb as necessary.\r\nAbility to relate to students, staff and parents.\r\nAbility to operate computers and copiers.\r\nAchieve minimum acceptable levels/scores in reading, writing, math, and technology assessments.\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nEducation and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous school food service experience in quantity cooking preferred.\r\nRequired Licenses/Special Requirements\r\nPossess a current food handlers card.\r\nMay be required to have a valid State of Washington Driver's license.\r\nTerms Of Employment\r\nLocation: Orting Middle School\r\nWork Year: 201 days (including paid holidays that fall within the school year)\r\nPaid Hours: Eight (8.0) hours per day, Monday - Friday plus a 30-minute duty free lunch\r\nSchedule: 5:30am - 2:00pm, Monday - Friday\r\nSalary: 2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule A ($25.86 - $28.95 DOE)\r\nWill be paid at 2026-27 rate\r\nREPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition Services\r\nWork Environment\r\nJob duties involve sitting, walking, standing, stooping, crouching and climbing. May be exposed to high noise levels. May be required to deal with distraught students. Work is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.\r\nBenefits\r\nFor on-call positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31).
