The pay for this position is $20-25/hr depending on experience. The 2nd Shift Supervisor is a full-time position with a shift from 3pm-11:30pm. This employee will be given thorough training enabling them to be a successful team member. This team member will report to the Production Supervisor and work closely with the Production Manager to maintain a smooth flow of product and material in all departments.\r\nBenefits\r\nBenefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA, disability, accident, voluntary life, hospital indemnity, matching 401k, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, company-paid life insurance, and paid parental leave.\r\nGeneral Duties\r\nFacilitates production by directing personnel in job assignment, workflow, quality control, and training.\r\nSpecific Duties\r\nStart up shift by assigning team members to the various production work centers\r\nMust arrive early before shifts to discuss work centers assignment of members with management\r\nMake sure the operator(s) have a clear understanding of the work, can operate in a safe manner, and understands the quality and quantity requirements\r\nMake sure that the equipment is functioning correctly\r\nComplete first article inspection of each work center at the start of the shift following up with hourly checks\r\nOversee shop floor as instructed by Management\r\nKeep production flow interruptions minimize by coordinating team\r\nTrain operators on new and current procedures and techniques.\r\nPractice lean manufacturing strategies to improve production procedures.\r\nAdjust molds, fixtures, or machines based on hourly quality checks throughout the shift\r\nNotify Management of any problems which might translate into a delivery delay or quality issue\r\nDocument any approved improvements made to process plans.\r\nDeal with problems in safety, quality, and production schedule of employees through coaching and correction\r\nFacilitate set-up of all machines as needed\r\nMake sure all employees are wearing correct PPE\r\nPerform proactive housekeeping procedures\r\nDocument problems or adjustment on production paperwork for traceability so the next shift can see what adjustments have been made to the machine and what problems occurred\r\nAbility to start up and shut down the facility and machines\r\nQuality Control\r\nCheck, approve, and document 1st article inspection of each part\r\nHourly quality checks of all parts being made and sign off on inspection sheet\r\nMake sure every employee understands the quality expectations of their work center\r\nDocument and inform management of any major quality issues\r\nSafety and Security\r\nBe aware and correct unsafe work habits of team members, unsafe working conditions, and report them to Production Management\r\nReport any unusual behavior by production employees to management or HR.\r\nBe sure no production employees are using cell phones while in the production area/around machinery.\r\nTime Management\r\nMake sure employee reports to assigned work center promptly and has all required paperwork and hardware to complete the task\r\nIf a work center is not fully set up or stops production for any reason make sure the operator has back up work to limit idle time\r\nEnforce proper clock-in/out by all employees so that timecards are correct\r\nInform management of unique circumstances that causes an employee to clock-in/out from normal shift times\r\nRecordkeeping\r\nReview process plans to ensure accuracy and recommended changes that may improve efficiency\r\nMaintain set-up guides\r\nMake sure the operator is properly recording labor time and good/scrap parts\r\nVerify thermoforming operator is recording hourly sheet and mold temperatures\r\nApprove submitted labor sheets\r\nRequirements\r\nPerform any other duties and/or assignments requested by the Management of Meyer Plastics.
