Senior Python Engineer – Public API | 6-Month Contract | Remote (EU)A fast-growing AI-powered SaaS platform used by millions is looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer to take full ownership of their public API.This is the interface through which self-serve developers and enterprise customers integrate cutting-edge image AI into their products — high-impact, high-visibility work from day one.What you'll be doing:Designing, building and evolving a public-facing API used by thousands of external developersOwning the full API surface — versioning, naming, structure, performance, reliabilityAbstracting complex AI/image models into clean, elegant developer-facing interfacesIterating fast based on real usage data and developer feedbackCollaborating with ML, product, backend and sales teamsYou must have:Hands-on experience building and owning a public-facing, external API - consumed by third-party developers, not just internal servicesStrong Python backend experience with FastAPI (or similar) and async patternsProven ownership of API design decisions - versioning, consistency, long-term evolutionProduct-minded and pragmatic - impact over over-engineeringStartup or fast-paced environment experienceBonus if you have:Image processing (Pillow, pyvips) or AI/inference model experienceDocker, uvicorn/gunicorn deployment patternsNode.js exposurePlease do not apply if you haven't worked on an externally-consumed, developer-facing API📍 Fully remote — EU timezones 📅 6-month contract 🏢 Small, senior team | High ownership from day oneInterested or know someone who'd be a fit?
