Activities will include creating and maintaining documentation along with supporting production efforts for the Navico Group Connect production team. This position is based out of Tulsa, OK. They will be tasked with general maintenance of lab equipment, assisting the Engineering Team with prototype development and new product testing, and providing technical assistance with test equipment operation. They will also be responsible for the care and safe operation of the Navico Group Tulsa boat fleet.\n\nAt Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nExecute product validation testing with detailed test reporting\nCommunicate test data and issues with engineering team by utilizing the test request system\nBuild prototypes according to engineering data, utilizing electrical and mechanical principles\nDesign and fabricate test fixtures\nProvide technical assistance and resolution when mechanical, electrical, and acoustical test problems arise\nPerform basic modifications to electronic circuits\nAssist with on-water product validation testing\nTroubleshoot equipment failures and implement proper repair solutions\nOperation and maintenance of the Navico Group Tulsa boat and vehicle fleet\nGeneral shop and lab upkeep\nPlan, coordinate, and prioritize many projects simultaneously\nContribute to decision-making that affects corporate strategy\nThis internship will be a full-time commitment from May to August\n\nInternship Projects to include:\n\nAssist in implementation of visual work instruction platform\nLead continuous improvement initiatives\n\nDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nWorking towards a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent\nBasic machine shop experience (vertical mill, lathe, general shop tools)\nMust be able to quickly adapt to changing directives in a competitive environment\nExperience working in lab environment (environmental chamber, electrical, mechanical tests) is a plus\nAble to work independently and within groups\nAble to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incomplete\nComfortable in multi-tasking situations\nComfortable with priority shifts\nSelfless, can-do attitude, willing to learn\nCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States immediately, without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience in the manufacturing industry\nExperience with the creation of work instructions\nExperience in boating and marine electronics is a plus\nFamiliarity with marine and/or RV products in professional or recreational environment\nExperience with new product development cycles\nShop/bench fabrication and/or assembly skills\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nLearning Opportunities: Our Student Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting. This may range from supporting larger projects to handling smaller, individual assignments.\nHours: Co-ops and Interns are expected to work a full 40-hour work week\nFeedback and Performance Reviews: As a co-op or intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.\nAbility to independently lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., moving and mounting trolling motors to test fixtures and boats)\nAbility to work in various outdoor environments (e.g., hot-weather, on-water testing, as well as work in a garage setting)\nAbility to work in confined spaces (e.g., rigging and outfitting boats)\n\nThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour.
