The duties include using design software to produce schematics and PCB layout, testing the device, and maintaining designs through their product life cycle.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nThe Electrical Engineer will have duties and responsibilities that focus on design, safety, sustainability, quality assurance, and manufacturability. This position will perform product design activity including MCU and SOM PCB layout, RF communication layout, and design for manufacturing. This position will be responsible for design, implementation, verification, and maintenance of electronic products and parts for consumer, industrial, and US DOD electronics. This position will additionally provide support for electrical work in the manufacturing cell design for internal manufacturing activities. Principal duties and responsibilities include:\n\nImplement design requirements from customer use cases\nInteract with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication\nDocument the electrical design and functional description for various systems\nTechnical purchasing specification and requisition\nFabrication and 1st article inspections\nDevelop and maintain project work schedules\nPrepare cost estimates for internal / external customers\nInspect electrical components during and after the product installation\nFailure analysis and resolution of electronic assemblies\nMust have initiative. Will work independently and collectively. Must possess a strong desire to learn and build technical knowledge\n\nTypical projects include intelligent sensor IOT products and robotics products.\n\nTypical project scope includes PCB and PCB stack (mezzanine) designs for automated test and assembly, as well as automated test equipment design.\n\nQualifications, Skills, and Attributes:\n\nThe ideal candidate for this Electrical Engineer position will have at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5 yrs experience in PCB layout; or equivalent. United States veterans and diverse candidates are encouraged to apply at any experience level.\n\nBS degree in Electrical Engineering, MS degree preferred.\nMinimum of 5 years' experience in design, project engineering and start-up of similar equipment.\nExperience with rechargeable batteries, cable harness, and board to board interconnect design, DC to DC converters, and communication protocols (CAN, ETHERNET, UART, SERIAL, I2C, SPI)\nKnowledge of PCB layout for MCU and SOM interfaces\nKnowledge of RF communication design\nExperience with electrical design drafting and schematics\nExperience designing with CAD software such as Altium\nTroubleshooting experience such as board bring-up, interconnection problems like ground loops, EMI/EMC, or environmental issues\nExperience with standard lab tools (DMM, Oscilloscope, Current Meters, Logic/Bus Analyzer)\nStrong communication, organizing, planning, and interpersonal skills\nExperience with SMT device sensors including imagers preferred\nKnowledge of drive control, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems preferred\nAbility to work on US DOD ITAR controlled projects preferred\nWilling and able to travel both domestically and internationally\nMust be proficient with Microsoft office products.\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nCompensation:\n\nThis will be a salaried, exempt position.
