The candidate willassist in the development of new products and material processes in the field ofadvanced materials for commercial and Department of Defense applications rangingfrom applied research & development (R&D) to pilot scale production.This position requires an individual with hands-on industrial machine and equipmentoperations experience, an understanding of basic scientific principles, an excellentsafety track record, and a desire to constantly improve. General knowledge andexperience working with metal or ceramic powder, analytical equipment, machine andwelding shop environments, and with engineering prototyping and design is alsobeneficial.Description Support the development of consolidation, milling, or manufacturing processesfor new and existing materials by: preparing materials for testing, assemblingcomponents, supporting welding and machining operations, etc. Support lab operations by: preparing high quality analytical samples, usinglaboratory equipment to evaluate basic metallographic properties, generating testreports, maintaining organization and inventory of lab samples and supplies, etc. Work with design engineers to develop products for small scaletesting/evaluation and larger scale manufacturing Support machine maintenance and repair operations Other duties as assignedRequired High School Diploma or equivalent Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S.citizenship is a pre-requisite 2 years of hands-on experience in a related position A strong willingness to learn new skills Excellent collaboration and communication skillsPreferred Vocational, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field Experience with metal or ceramic powder handling Hands on/applied skills and capabilities with a variety of industrial equipment andthe ability to thrive in an R&D Lab/Industrial environment Familiarity with mechanical design, prototype and product assembly and welding,manual and CNC machining practices and techniques Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience supporting welding operationsCompetencies Unwavering commitment to client’s Core Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity,Teamwork and Impact Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Efficient planning and quality execution Drive towards excellence and a continual improvement and learning orientation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills
