{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"51e3074271324c3dff53b123","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/51e3074271324c3dff53b123","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/51e3074271324c3dff53b123","title":"Weekend Shift Machine Operator I","description":"Job Description\n\nMACHINE OPERATOR I\n\nDepartment:\n\nOperations\n\nReports To:\n\nProduction Supervisor\n\nPay Grade:\n\nFLSA Classification:\n\nNonexempt\n\nApproved By:\n\nRevision Date:\n\n04/15/2024\n\nJOB PURPOSE or JOB DESCRIPTION:\n\nPerform duties to complete various tasks related to machine setup, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and/or preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to meet production goals and standards on a regular basis.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nPrepare work center to run according to schedule and ensure production goals and standards are met.\nUpload programs into routers, learn and apply concepts to proper operation of machines, computers, and tablets in the area.\nMove material within or to/from workstations to meet operational needs.\nFollow proper processes for performing inspections, ensuring accuracy, and allowing for continuous monitoring for defects. If defects are found, the product must be sent to be reworked.\nWork with other area leads to ensure sufficient product flow.\nCommunicate as necessary with maintenance and/or supervisor using provided equipment.\nAssist with material handling to provide continuous production at each work center and meet operational needs.\nSuccessfully scan work orders and complete paperwork as On-the-Job (OTJ) training requires within a reasonable time frame.\nMonitor operation of machine, reporting any damage or needed repairs immediately to leadership.\nConduct preventative maintenance checks on machine(s) and properly document those checks via tablets provided by following On-the-Job (OTJ) training documents.\nConduct frequent checks on product quality to ensure standards are met, report quality issues to the supervisor.\nProactively adjust equipment if deviations occur to provide ongoing continuous quality adjustments for acceptable product.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area throughout scheduled shift as well as perform cleaning duties at designated times to contribute to a safe environment.\nMake recommendations through specified means of communication, that support a lean and efficient manufacturing environment.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nOther Responsibilities\n\nUtilize various hand tools.\nPractice and model proper safety rules and procedures.\nReport to and be ready to work at the scheduled start time on a consistent basis.\nComply with all safety and company policies.\nWear proper PPE equipment as required for the area.\n\nSUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nNone\n\nCOMPETENCIES:\n\nWork in a manner that contributes to a safe working environment.\nDemonstrate strong verbal communication skills.\nManage time efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.\nWork independently and at an appropriate pace to meet productivity goals.\nSupport team goals through flexibility, adaptability, and agility.\nUse of problem-solving skills to assess and resolve identified issues.\nStrong math skills using calculations and measurement for accuracy.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nEducation: None\n\nExperience and/or Training: None\n\nLicenses/Certificates: None\n\nTechnology/Equipment: None\n\nOther: Must be 18 years of age or older.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nEducation: High school graduate, GED or equivalent.\n\nExperience and/or Training:\n\n6 months of internal experience as a general laborer.\n6 months of experience as a Machine Operator I.\n6 months of experience with air handling equipment.\nAble to understand and calculate metric to standard conversions.\n\nLicenses/Certificates: None\n\nTechnology/Equipment: Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite, Knowledge of ERP manufacturing software (2020 Insight.).\n\nPHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:\n\nStanding for the working hours of each shift, 10 + hours daily. Walking in the Production department to different areas of work. Speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools. Regularly lift 30-50 lbs. throughout shift. Team-lift as specified by leadership. Employees may perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and turning frequently.\n\nWORKING ENVIRONMENT:\n\nIndoor working environment, hot in Summer, temperature controlled in Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable carts, etc. Uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas.
