This position is a key component in ensuring that the area complies with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations. Multiple locating methods are required. The technician will be dispatched to locate and verify for utility customers. The technician may work independently or in a team; in either circumstance the technician will work under an assigned supervisor. All employees can advance within the company based on performance and satisfactory results.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nLocate underground facilities by using a transmitter and hooking up to a buried facility, pedestal, etc.\r\nWork in and walk over all types of terrain in and around construction zones, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas in all types of weather conditions.\r\nInterpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.\r\nPerform locates and emergency/on-call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as necessary to meet customer needs.\r\nPerform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner while effectively communicating and interacting with customers, co-employees, and third parties.\r\nCommunicate with the management team, contractor, and utility customer to ensure a damage-free environment.\r\nDemonstrate knowledge of technology and tools needed for the job.\r\nAbility to work with others and in a supervised team environment.\r\nEquipment and Tools Provided\r\nCompany vehicle\r\nLaptop and smartphone\r\nAll personal protective equipment\r\nQualifications\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalency (GED)\r\nState-issued driver's license\r\nProblem-solving ability\r\nAbility to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints\r\nVacuum truck experience (A+)\r\nAbility to lift over 50 lbs\r\nAbility to walk/stand for multiple hours a day\r\nExcellent communication skills\r\nBackground screening with no violations within the last five years\r\nDOT drug test pass required\r\nBenefits\r\nHealth insurance\r\nDental insurance\r\nTerm life insurance\r\nShort-term disability\r\nLong-term disability\r\nVision insurance\r\nFlexible benefits plan\r\n401(k) savings plan (matched by the company)\r\nAll employees are eligible to receive some form of company benefits.
