In this role, you'll focus on infrastructure engineering to support embedded systems. Our environment includes a wide variety of embedded computers, sensors and actuators, requiring innovative approaches to managing and scaling. Reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with a talented, collegial team of engineers and physicists while making a lasting impact on the future of computing.\r\nDue to the mix of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, this role is required to be in the office in Boulder at least 3 days per week.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDesign OTA update and configuration procedures for embedded systems.\r\nDevelop automated management processes for first- and third-party embedded devices, including RF subsystems, lasers and cameras.\r\nConsult with security, design security primitives specific to on-prem hardware and embedded devices.\r\nBuild and optimize monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics systems to support both development and production environments.\r\nCollaborate with engineering teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment efficiency.\r\nExperience & Education\r\nBS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent on-the-job experience.\r\n5+ years of post-degree professional experience maintaining large scale distributed systems.\r\nQualifications\r\nFamiliarity with MicroTCA, VPX/OpenVPX, ATCA, CompactPCI Serial, PXIe, or other high-performance embedded systems form factors and interconnect standards.\r\nExperience with on-premise hardware services, including virtualization and containerization management solutions such as Proxmox VE, Docker and Podman.\r\nExperience with OTA update workflows, firmware deployment processes, and secure device update protocols.\r\nExperience with Yocto Linux or compiling Linux distributions, kernel modules, device drivers, etc.\r\nSolid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions.\r\nAbility to optimize and tune on-premise hardware for performance and low latency using tools such as perf, systemd-analyze, iostat, and tuning profiles.\r\nProficiency in designing and implementing metrics, monitoring, and alerting pipelines using Datadog, Grafana, or other observability tools.\r\nSkilled in architecting infrastructure workflows with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Kubernetes.\r\nAtom Computing provides a wide variety of perks and benefits, including fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for our employees and their dependents.
