You’ll tackle real problems on production systems—not toy projects—and gain hands-on experience building AI/ML solutions that transform how we identify and evaluate investment opportunities in biomedical and climate technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing and developing end-to-end AI applications, from prototype through deploymentBuild and iterate on AI agents, workflows, and tool integrations (e.g., MCP servers, agentic pipelines)Contribute to production-grade forecasting or classification systems with attention to latency, scalability, and robustnessHelp develop full-stack AI applications with both frontend and backend componentsWork with proprietary research data to train, evaluate, and improve ML or GenAI modelsParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional collaboration with analysts and investorsAcademic & Experience RequirementsCurrently pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related fieldCoursework or project experience in AI/ML (e.g., deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, computer vision)Prior internship or meaningful project experience in software engineering preferredExposure to healthcare and/or finance domains is a plusTechnical RequirementsStrong Python programming skillsFamiliarity with JavaScript and/or JavaUnderstanding of machine learning fundamentals (regression, classification, clustering, neural networks)Experience with at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch preferred)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred—SageMaker, Bedrock, or similar)Comfort with Git, containerization basics (Docker), and command-line workflowsInterest in or experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and AI workflow frameworksNice to HaveExperience with LLM application development (prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning)Familiarity with agent frameworks, MCP integrations, or multi-agent architecturesExperience building data pipelines or working with large-scale datasetsContributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolioWhat You’ll GainHands-on experience building AI systems that directly impact investment decisions in breakthrough medical and climate technologiesMentorship from senior engineers and exposure to a proven team of analysts and investorsAccess to extensive proprietary datasets and real-world AI/ML challenges at production scaleA collaborative, sandbox-style environment where our work feels like play—and when our investments succeed, people live longer, healthier livesAdditional RequirementsExcellent English communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholdersStrong problem-solving abilities and investigative mindsetAbility to work in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environmentMust be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internshipMust be able to work out of our Boston office this summerAbility to join us on June 1st and commit full-time for 10-12 weeksCompensation & Internship ExperienceThis is a paid, hourly internship position. Compensation is competitive within the industry and commensurate with experience and level of study.
