The ideal candidate will have exposure to the aerospace industry as well as a materials engineering background. This role has both program facing and lab responsibilities. The role will report up within the materials engineering group and be based in Redmond, WA.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nPerform lab evaluations of metallurgical specimens leveraging tools such as optical and electron microscopy\nUpdate and enhance materials specifications and other program requirements\nInterface with the internal manufacturing team to support processing on-site\nAbility to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\n\nExposure to a variety of materials characterization techniques\nExposure to chemical or industrial environments and appropriate safety practices\nBenchtop chemistry and lab expertise\n\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $76,500 - $141,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.\n\nL3Harris announced on January 5th, that AE Industrial Partners (“AE Industrial”) has agreed to acquire a controlling interest in L3Harris’ Space Propulsion and Power Systems business. This position has been identified as one that will transition to the new standalone company upon closing of the transaction.
