The offerings being developed by this team include control panels, VFDs, wire harnesses and overall electrical design all in a highly configured environment. Position will also be focused on maturing the functional standard processes and will work with peers to align best practices across the organization and industry. Position reports to Director of Control Panels for Daikin Applied. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MNWhat you will do:People LeaderBe responsible for coordinating the activities of the Americas regional applied development team with other global and regional groupsDrive continuous improvement within the teamEvaluate design decisions and work collaboratively across multiple teamsWork with the team to maintain high productivity and low turnoverDevelop training and succession plans for the groupMaintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe mannerTechnical LeadershipOwnership of electrical architecture for control panels / power distribution (single-line diagrams, panel layouts, wiring schematics)Manage regional development, help select and integrate third-party products, ensure products meet the defined customer requirements of teams are being met, and ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulatory requirements such as UL 508a and the NECProgram / Delivery / NPIProvide excellent communication and organizational skills within a team environmentSupport Design Reviews for NPI projectsWork closely with development and project teams to plan and track workDefine, track, and report Key Performance IndicatorsDefine, track, and report on the group budgetCollaborate with the business team to develop roadmaps for future product work, including the required resourcesAdvise management of anything that may affect schedule, costs, or inter-departmental relationsDevelop standard procedures for key NPI deliverablesEvaluate and support implementation of new digital toolsWhat's in it for you:The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growthThe support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our bestMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of management experience, leading diverse teams2+ years working in an Agile development environmentStrong organizational, interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as technical literature and safety standards, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical schematics, and engineering drawingsAbility to communicate effectively with cross-functional employees in the organization, including remote employees in other countriesAbility to apply basic engineering principles to solve problemsAble to collect and report data and use data to drive decision makingWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionPreferred Qualifications:Understanding of/experience with HVAC systemsExperience in product development power systems and control panelsExperience integrating with third-party controls products, especially UL componentsExperience working with global development projectsExperience with requirements managementExperience leading cross-functional teamsExperience leading Agile teamsBenefits:Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer matchPaid time off and company paid holidaysPaid sick time in accordance with the federal, state and local lawTuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous serviceThe typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800 - $171,700 plus a 15% bonus in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
