We are an automation-first organization, prioritizing the deployment of all our cloud resources via automation to enhance efficiency and consistency. Our engineers collaborate closely with internal product teams to deliver adaptable and scalable code that meets the requirements of our diverse clientele. We are looking for a junior engineer eager to grow their skills in configuration management using ansible, managing cloud infrastructure with terraform, and automating processes with CI/CD pipelines. Our client base spans local, state, and federal government agencies and private sector organizations supporting government missions.ResponsibilitiesExecute and develop Ansible playbooks and roles to automate configuration, provisioning, and maintenance tasks across cloud environments.Support deployment and maintenance of infrastructure across cloud service providers by assisting with Terraform configurations under the guidance of senior engineers.Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including writing and troubleshooting pipeline jobs.Deploy and support containerized services using Docker and/or Kubernetes.Contribute to standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation for infrastructure processes.Apply a security-first mindset across all responsibilities, including Linux hardening and access control.Support monitoring, logging, and configuration management efforts in a multi-tenant cloud environment.Leverage generative AI tools to improve efficiency and consistency in day-to-day infrastructure tasks.Knowledge And SkillsProficient in Ansible for automation, configuration management, and playbook/role development.Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its foundational services.Basic experience with Terraform or other IaC tools; willingness to grow Terraform proficiency over time.Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitLab Runners or similar platforms.Proficient in at least one scripting language (bash or Python) for automation tasks.Strong Linux OS skills including deployment, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.Basic understanding of networking concepts: IP routing, subnetting, DNS, and TCP/IP.Familiarity with secrets management concepts (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) is a plus.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.3 or more years of experience with Ansible, including playbook development and configuration management.Experience working in Linux environments, including administration and troubleshooting.Experience working within CI/CD workflows and version-controlled infrastructure.Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and networking fundamentals.Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.Exposure to identity management concepts such as RBAC or SSO.Experience with logging and monitoring tools in a cloud environment.Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written documentation and team discussions.We recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote without regard to race, religion, color, citizenship, national origin, age, sex, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.Disclaimer: Nothing in this job description/posting shall constitute an offer or promise of employment.
