The RT/LMRT performs all radiologic procedures and clinician orders in a timely and accurate manner adhering to all regulatory requirements.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nRepresents Urgent Care by displaying a respectful and caring manner with patients and their families. Independently problem solves and utilizes resources to obtain patient information when patient is unable to communicate. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.\nCreates a welcoming environment and acts as a patient advocate.\nIndependently problem solves and utilizes resources to obtain patient information when patient is unable to communicate.\nWorks as a member of a cross functional team which provides not only radiologic but also in-taking, lab testing, and clerical duties including cleaning / disinfecting exam rooms, scanning, and indexing as necessary.\nTranslates provider’s orders into appropriate x-ray procedures.\nPrepares and positions patient correctly for each radiologic examination, assisting clinicians where appropriate.\nOperates x-ray equipment to make radiographs for designated portions of the body utilizing ALARA.\nSelects, identifies and exposes films for digital viewing.\nUtilizes radiology PACS system to enter data and appropriate technical factors.\nCoordinates and participates in a variety of patient care activities in the examination and treatment of patients to include: vital signs, blood draws, intake, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and using standard equipment. Records data for medical record.\nPerforms patient intake and enters data into EMR.\nAdheres to patient intake standards.\nPrepares and sets up medical supplies, instruments and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.\nPerforms various laboratory testing, daily controls and additional duties as needed.\nPerforms drug screens as needed.\nConfers with patient to obtain accurate information for records. Assists in completion of insurance/compensation/disability forms.\nWorks directly under supervision of the clinician, practice manager and registered nurse to provide uncompromising service to patients and community.\nSupports Patient Service Representatives by performing the patient registration process as needed and under direction of management.\nMaintains work area in clean and orderly condition; sets up, cleans and disinfects examination rooms; monitors and ensures appropriate inventory of medical supplies in examination rooms; replenishes as required.\nEnsures adequate and appropriate patient follow-up regarding prescriptions, referrals and diagnostic testing. Contributes to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature and referrals as needed.\nComplies with quality assurance, HIPAA, customer service, infection control, and safety guidelines and other policies as set forth.\nInteracts calmly, respectfully and in a friendly manner with other clinic staff. Refers patients to proper resources including transfer, follow up and appointments as directed by clinician.\nParticipates in ongoing training through completion of online training, attending in-person training sessions and meetings as required.\nParticipates in development and implementation of general policies and procedures to provide for the physical and emotional comfort and safety of patients.\nMaintains CME requirements through continuing education and in-service training.\nOther duties as assigned and requested.\nEnsures cleanliness of office and clinical environment.\nAttendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job requirement.\nQUALIFICATIONS / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nGraduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology\nARRT registered and respective State license in Radiologic Technology or LMRT cert\n1 to 3 years’ experience in a medical office/clinic environment preferred\nCurrent certification required based on clinic specialty, including but not limited to PALS, ACLS, BLS\nPlease refer to skills Checklist for applicable skills requirements\nJob Requirements\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nAbility to perform patient intake and document problems appropriately, seeking guidance as needed\nHigh degree of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to determine needs, provide information, instruct, and provide emotional support\nStrong planning, problem solving, organizational, verbal communication and interpersonal skills\nWorking knowledge of general office equipment including fax and copy machines, multi-line phone system, and personal computer\nWorking knowledge of medical terminology\nAbility to address and resolve conflict in a professional manner, including challenging patients/clients and stressful situations\nAbility to maintain strict confidentiality\nAbility to be flexible\nAbility to perform detail-oriented work\nAbility to work independently yet in conjunction with a team\nAbility to adapt to a changing and growing atmosphere\nCourteous and professional demeanor\nWillingness to work as a team player to meet common goals of the department\nAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines\nExcellent customer service skills\nPromote positive department morale through effective teamwork\nAbility to work and travel to multiple locations if needed.\nPHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:\nJob performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting\nAlmost continuous noise inherent to the scanning equipment\nModerate physical effort, including assistance to the disabled patient in transfers to and from wheelchairs, exam tables, bathroom etc.\nMay be required to assist in lifting patients more than one-hundred (100) pounds\nAssociated health risks related to patient exposure including body fluids and needles\nPossible exposure to radiation related to x-ray procedures\nExposure to moderate noise levels\nOccasional standing/bending\nProlonged standing periods\nThis position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions.
