The Applications Developer works as part of the Application Development & Operations team that is responsible for the overall function, design, development and maintenance of the University Libraries' applications portfolio.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nWrite clean, efficient, and maintainable code for software applications based on user needs and specifications.\r\nCollaborate with the team to translate user requirements into technical specifications and system architecture.\r\nDevelop both front-end and back-end components of applications, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.\r\nDevelop and execute comprehensive testing plans to identify and address bugs and other issues before deployment.\r\nProduce clear and comprehensive technical documentation for all development phases, aiding in maintenance and future development.\r\nParticipate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.\r\nAnalyze and resolve complex technical issues, working with team members to implement effective solutions.\r\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective development cycles.\r\nStay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends, integrating them into development processes as appropriate.\r\nIdentify opportunities to enhance development processes, efficiency, and software quality.\r\nProvide ongoing daily support and incident resolution for UL applications as required.\r\nEducation and Experience\r\nRequired: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of relevant experience.
