The position will trouble shoot, diagnose and repair root cause issues. The Maintenance Technician supports production by performing both corrective and preventive maintenance tasks while maintaining a high level of safety and quality.\n\nDivision: Commercial\nDepartment: Maintenance\nReports to: Commercial Maintenance Manager\nJob Type: Full-Time\nFLSA: Non-Exempt\nSchedule: Day Shift\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nPerform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical and mechanics\nRespond to breakdown calls quickly\nTrouble shoot, diagnose and repair the root cause issue making sure to fix it right the first time\nLocate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.\nSet and install new equipment\nRelocate and remove equipment as required\nPerform preventive maintenance tasks as needed such as lubrication, cleaning and general inspections.\nFabricate minimal changes to equipment for repairs or to enhance machine performance\nManage time and resources and adapt to changing priorities\nPrompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.\nInteract with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.\nConfer and collaborate with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.\nReview and analyze data and information.\nPlan, prioritize and monitor maintenance activities.\nComplete assigned tasks or projects in a timely manner.\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\nNo direct management or supervisory responsibilities.\n\nSafety\nObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and toe protection; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow job-specific safety requirements such as Lock Out Tag Out, Ladder Safety and Power or Manual Tool Safety. The position will also use Safe Lift and Scaffold Safety and follow all safe driving laws.\n\nTravel\nMinimal travel between the Quaker campuses may be required.\n\nQualifications\nAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\nKnowledge of hand tools\nKnowledge of power tools and shop equipment such as mill, lathe and bandsaw\nAbility to read hydraulic schematics\nAbility to read pneumatic schematics\nAbility to read electrical schematics\nSufficient in Microsoft Office Products – Outlook, Word, Excel\nKnowledge of basic math skills\nKnowledge of AutoCAD drafting software preferred\nStrong knowledge of Control Voltage and Primary Voltage\nSufficient in Allen Bradley, Rockwell Industrial Automation brand or other Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) language\nMust have and maintain a valid Class E Driver's License\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\nThe expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.\nA High School Diploma or passed General Education Development test is required.\nAssociate's Degree in relevant mechanical/technical field or enrollment in a mechanical/technical program or equivalent work experience is required.\nMinimum two years related work experience within an operations environment with a strong mechanical/technical skillset preferred\n\nCompetencies and Skills\nAdvanced Problem Solving\nCommunication Proficiency & Listening\nCollaboration\nDependability\nSafety Focused\n\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\nThis is a full-time position.
