Job DetailsThis is a school-based travel Physical Therapist opportunity located in Bennettsville, South Carolina, a welcoming small town in the scenic Pee Dee region. You will work a Monday through Friday schedule, with an expected 37.5 hours per week. The traveler is paid only for hours worked, and will not be paid for school holidays, teacher workdays, or closures due to weather or other school-based reasons. This structure offers the rhythm of a traditional school-year calendar with evenings and weekends free, ideal for maintaining work-life balance and exploring the local area.As the school-based Physical Therapist, you will provide direct and consultative PT services to support students' access to and participation in their educational programs. Typical responsibilities include:Conducting evaluations and re-evaluations to determine students' functional needs within the school environment Developing individualized therapy plans and goals that align with IEPs and educational objectives Delivering direct treatment, group sessions, and consultative services as appropriate Collaborating daily with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and school administrators Participating in IEP meetings and contributing professional input for service recommendations and goal development Recommending and training staff on the use of adaptive equipment, positioning strategies, mobility supports, and environmental modifications Providing education to families and caregivers to promote carryover of strategies at home Documenting services, progress, and communication in a timely, organized, and compliant manner Supporting safe student mobility within the school, including classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria, and bus environmentsYou can expect a diverse caseload of K-12 students with varying needs, including orthopedic, neuromotor, developmental, and other conditions affecting mobility, balance, strength, and access to the school environment. The role may involve working across multiple school buildings within the district, requiring flexibility and strong time-management skills.
