New Product Development Design Tech (Part-Time)
SUMMARY: The best candidate for this position is a strong team player with the ability to be flexible and adapt. Primary responsibilities include design creation with consideration of customer specifications, manufacturing processes, welding requirements, and engineering principles. This position requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of electrical, mechanical and/or non-metallic design content, including prints, justified with data
Development of design solutions through a basic understanding of Crenlo manufacturing capabilities, best practices and industry standards to satisfy customer specifications
Execute a basic understanding of GD&T and drafting practices while developing accurate drawing packages.
Document all design decisions with appropriate justification in design files
Participate in design reviews to gain design direction consensus
Develop design alternatives for internal review and recommendations to customers
Consistently produce accurate build drawings
Able to schedule work and complete work in a manner that supports commitments
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in engineering is required
Experience with PTC Creo, Solid Works or similar 3D modeling software
Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER:
Environment: This position is regularly exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, vibration, electricity, heights, and pinch point hazards.
Physical Requirements statement(s)
Typically requires standing, walking, and sitting on a regular basis. Approximately 60% of time will be spent on the production floor and the remaining 40% will be in an office.
Specific vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision. Sustained visual concentration on numbers, policy documents, etc. while viewing small areas such as monitors and small screens.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law, compliance, trends, new technologies and best practices in areas of responsibilities.
