The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and enhancing critical mainframe applications, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to long-term modernization and stability initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, maintain, and support COBOL-based mainframe applicationsWork extensively with VSAM files and legacy data processing systemsAnalyze existing programs and implement enhancements/fixesSupport batch processing, data distribution, and system integrationsTroubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysisCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing business operationsParticipate in modernization and performance optimization initiativesEnsure system reliability, scalability, and documentation standardsRequired Skills:Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programmingDeep understanding of VSAM datasets and file structuresExperience working in mainframe environments (z/OS preferred)Knowledge of JCL, CICS, DB2, and batch processingStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience in enterprise data distribution or data processing systemsExposure to modernization/migration projectsPrior experience supporting large-scale legacy platformsStrong communication and collaboration skillsExperience:8+ years of relevant experience preferredEducation:Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
