As a veteran-owned IT consulting company, we combine decades of industry experience with a continued focus on how technology, AI, and the way people work are evolving.\n\nOur work spans technology consulting, talent development, and AI-enabled solutions. We value people who take ownership, adapt quickly, communicate well, and care about the quality of their work. Whether you're early in your career or bringing years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to keep building your skills, contribute to meaningful client work, and grow with a company that continues to evolve with the industry.\n\nLaunch Your Software Development Career with FastTrack\n\nOur next cohort begins Tuesday, September 15, 2026.\n\nCook Systems is seeking motivated developers for FastTrack, our free, selective 8-week online program designed to build full-stack development capabilities and prepare qualified participants to launch or advance their software development careers through opportunities with Cook Systems clients.\n\nFastTrack is built for developers who already have a technical foundation and are ready to take the next step. This is not an introductory coding program. Participants are expected to enter with programming experience and the ability to build software.\n\nWhy FastTrack?\n\nBuilding a career in software development can be difficult, even when you already have the skills to build software—especially in a market where developers are increasingly expected to work across technologies and use AI effectively.\n\nFastTrack helps close the gap between having a development foundation and being ready to contribute across the stack on a professional technology team.\n\nFastTrack operates on a high-trust model. There is no tuition, no income-share agreement, and no repayment agreement. In return, we ask participants to take the opportunity seriously: communicate, do the work, collaborate, respond to feedback, remain committed throughout the program, and give Cook Systems a fair opportunity after graduation to help connect you with client opportunities.\n\nLearn more at allaboutfasttrack.com.\n\nWhat You'll Develop\n\nFastTrack is an intensive learning and development program that builds from backend development to frontend development and full-stack application development.\n\nTechnical areas include:\n\nJava and object-oriented programming\nSpring and Spring Boot\nREST APIs and web services\nSQL and relational databases\nJavaScript and TypeScript\nAngular\nGit and collaborative development workflows\nTesting, debugging, and code quality\nFull-stack application development\nAgile development practices\n\nYou'll apply those skills through hands-on development, collaborative projects, and technical assessments.\n\nThe program also includes career-readiness content designed to help participants better understand the expectations of professional software teams. Topics may include communication, collaboration, interviewing, and working effectively with clients and teammates.\n\nFastTrack also prepares you for a development environment where generative AI is part of the developer toolkit. You'll learn to use AI to support development work while building the judgment to evaluate its output and use it effectively and responsibly.\n\nWho Should Apply?\n\nFastTrack is selective and designed for aspiring and early-career developers who already have a technical foundation but still have room to develop their capabilities across the full stack.\n\nYou may be a strong fit if you:\n\nHave hands-on programming experience\nHave built software applications or development projects\nHave experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language\nHave a foundation in frontend, backend, or web development and want to build greater capability across the full stack\nAre comfortable learning independently and working through technical challenges\nAre comfortable being assessed on your technical skills\nWork well with others and are receptive to feedback\nAre serious about pursuing professional software development opportunities\n\nYour experience may come from professional work, an internship, college coursework, a boot camp, technical training, or substantial independent projects. What matters is that you already have a foundation in software development and are ready to build on it.\n\nYou do not need to already be a full-stack developer—that is the gap FastTrack is designed to help you close. FastTrack is not designed for candidates with no prior software development experience or for experienced developers who have already established themselves as full-stack software engineers.\n\nWhat to Expect\n\nAdmission to FastTrack is selective, and applicants should expect a screening process that evaluates whether they have the technical foundation needed to succeed in the program. FastTrack is an unpaid learning and development program, not an employment position. Once admitted, participants should expect to devote approximately 25–30 hours per week for 8 weeks to structured learning, assignments, assessments, projects, collaboration, and career preparation.\n\nSuccessful completion of FastTrack does not guarantee employment or placement. Qualified graduates may be considered for opportunities with Cook Systems clients based on available opportunities, client requirements, and individual fit.\n\nIf you have already invested in becoming a developer and are ready to strengthen your skills and pursue the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply. Learn more at allaboutfasttrack.com.\n\nAdditional Details\n\nWorkplace Setting: Remote #LI-Remote\nJob Type: Contract\nSeniority Level: Entry Level\nJob Function: Information Technology\n\n#IND1\n\nThe benefits listed below are available once FastTrack graduates are hired by Cook Systems and placed with a client.\n\nBenefits at Cook Systems\n\nWe want our employees to have benefits that support their health, financial well-being, and life outside of work. Eligible Cook Systems employees have access to a comprehensive benefits package beginning the first of the month following their hire date, including:\n\nMedical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield, with two plan options\nDental and vision coverage\nLife, critical illness, and accident insurance through Unum\nFlexible Spending Account and Dependent Care FSA options through Navia\nHealth Gap Insurance through Sun Life\n401(k) retirement plan through The Standard, with eligibility after six months\n\nBeyond benefits, Cook Systems is a place where we expect people to take ownership of their work, communicate openly, continue learning, and contribute to the teams and clients they support.\n\nWe have been building technology careers and client partnerships for more than three decades, and we continue to evolve with the industry.
