We emphasize teamwork, professional development, and internal growth within a positive, high-performing environment.Role OverviewThe Casualty Claim Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing a team of casualty claim adjusters handling auto liability, bodily injury, property damage, and related first and third-party claims across our 50-state book of business. This is an in-office, desk-based leadership role located in Jacksonville, FL.The position requires strong technical casualty claims expertise, proven people leadership skills, and the ability to guide the team through complex liability, coverage, negotiation, and customer service challenges while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Leadership & OversightSupervise, coach, and develop a team of casualty claim adjusters handling auto liability, bodily injury, and property damage claimsProvide technical guidance and direction on complex coverage, liability, and damage evaluationsReview and approve claim decisions, settlements, and reserves within assigned authority levelsServe as an escalation point for complex, high-exposure, disputed, or sensitive claims People Management & DevelopmentConduct regular file reviews, audits, and performance feedback sessionsSupport adjuster onboarding, training, licensing, and continuing education requirementsPartner with management to set performance goals, monitor workloads, and address resource needsFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-focused claim handling Technical Claims ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate interpretation and application of policy language and coverage determinationsGuide the handling of litigated claims, attorney-represented matters, and complex injury exposuresOversee preparation and review of professional correspondence, including reservations of rights, coverage position letters, and settlement communicationsEnsure proper identification and pursuit of subrogation opportunities Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure team compliance with state insurance laws, Unfair/Fair Claims Practices, and internal claims handling standardsMonitor claim quality, timeliness, diary management, and documentation standardsAssist with regulatory inquiries, complaints, and internal or external audits Customer & Stakeholder EngagementSupport effective communication with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and internal partnersAddress escalated customer concerns with professionalism and solutions-focused leadershipBalance customer service excellence with risk management and company financial stewardship Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree (BA/BS/BBA) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience5 to 7 years of casualty, first and third party, multi-state claims experience2 to 3 years of leadership experience in a business role within claimsDemonstrated experience handling complex liability and injury claimsStrong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills/Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including ExcelAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to ethical standards, accuracy, and regulatory complianceAbility to maintain required adjuster licenses and continuing education Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with litigated claims, attorney involvement, and injury evaluationWorking knowledge of regulatory complaint handling (e.g., DOI complaints) What You Can ExpectA supportive, team-oriented cultureOpportunities for cross-training and professional growthRecognition for accuracy, efficiency, and service excellenceA workplace built on trust, integrity, and respect
