If you enjoy taking ideas from concept to working prototype in short, iterative cycles, and you like solving challenging problems across the stack, this role will give you the opportunity to have an outsized impact on how our organization operates.\nYou’ll work as a hands-on engineer on a close-knit team, helping to design and build modern, scalable applications with polished, intuitive user interfaces.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance complex, full-stack software systems based on documented requirements.\nImplement features end-to-end, from UI through backend services and data stores.\nApply modern software engineering practices (version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD) to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.\nBuild and execute simulations and test harnesses in development and test environments.\nEnsure UI designs adhere to established UX/UI principles, style guides, and accessibility standards.\nLeverage UI libraries, frameworks, and reusable components to accelerate development and maintain consistency.\nTest UI across the organization’s approved browsers and platforms to ensure a seamless user experience.\nDebug and troubleshoot UI and full-stack issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving fixes.\nContinuously improve the user experience by identifying UX/UI enhancements and performance optimizations.\nStay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in front-end, full-stack, and UI development.\nParticipate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and shared standards.\nCollaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to refine requirements and deliver incremental value.\nWork performed in a contractor facility in Annapolis Junction.\nBoth low and high side access.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nStrong Java development skills for backend services.\nProficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically React, for building rich, responsive UIs.\nExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.\nHands-on experience with containers (Podman and/or Docker).\nExperience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.\nPractical experience designing and building microservices-based architectures.\nFamiliarity with Two or More of the Following\nData and processing paradigms: Machine Learning, streaming data pipelines, and/or batch processing.\nData stores: MongoDB, ArangoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS or on hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).\nFamiliarity with logging, monitoring, and observability tools for full-stack applications.\nExperience working in agile or iterative development environments.\n\nEducation Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\nMinimum 14 years of relevant experience in software engineering, modernization, or solution architecture\n\nBenefits:\n10% Employer Contribution to 401K; Immediately Vested\n5 Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) up to 7 weeks\nAccess to Premium Healthcare/Dental/Vision Available\n$2500+ Training Paid\nReferral Company Profit Sharing\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
