Senior Information Technology Project Manager
Position Title: Public Health Vocabulary SME Location: Remote (U.S. – including Washington, DC)Position SummaryJR Software Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Public Health Vocabulary Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the DMAC Data Governance and Data Standards initiative. The SME will lead the design, development, and implementation of terminology and data standards solutions to ensure interoperability, data quality, and compliance across public health systems at the federal, state, and local levels.Roles & Responsibilities• Lead the design and implementation of public health terminology solutions using standards such as LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10, USCDI+, and FHIR.• Provide data standards strategy and vocabulary authoring expertise to support CDC terminology modernization efforts.• Map complex laboratory assays and scientific data to standardized vocabularies for accurate reporting and surveillance.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and development organizations to develop and enhance data standards.• Analyze and improve data quality and consistency across clinical, laboratory, and epidemiological datasets.• Support integration efforts ensuring alignment with HL7 and public health interoperability frameworks.Required Qualifications• 10+ years of experience as a Public Health Terminologist / SME• Strong expertise in:o LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10o HL7, FHIR, USCDI+• Proven experience in vocabulary authoring and data standards implementation• Experience supporting CDC or federal public health data initiatives• Ability to analyze and interpret complex laboratory and surveillance data• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)Preferred Qualifications• Experience in federal, state, or local public health environments• Experience implementing standards in healthcare or laboratory systems• Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python)• Experience with PHINVADS• Knowledge of infectious disease surveillance and public health informatics• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Health InformaticsCore Competencies• Data Governance & Standards• Public Health Informatics• Terminology & Vocabulary Management• Interoperability (FHIR/HL7)• Data Quality & Analytics
