Board Certified / Board Eligible Urologist – Fargo VA Medical Center
MDPerm is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist to provide comprehensive urological care at the Fargo VA Medical Center. This position offers a structured weekday schedule with a strong surgical and outpatient practice supporting Veteran patient care.
Schedule & Work Hours
Full-Time
Monday–Friday
Clinic & OR Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM local time
80 hours per pay period
No call responsibilities
No Federal holiday responsibilities
Overview
The Urologist will provide outpatient clinic care, consultations, inpatient rounding, and surgical procedures within a collaborative VA healthcare environment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality urological care to Veterans while maintaining compliance with VA standards and clinical protocols.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat patients in the urology outpatient clinic
Perform inpatient rounding for urology patients
Conduct consultations and coordinate specialty referrals as needed
Perform procedures including:
Cystoscopies
Vasectomies
Scrotal surgeries
Ureteroscopies
Transurethral procedures for prostate disease and bladder cancer
Provide general urological care and management
Perform specialty examinations related to urological conditions, including Compensation & Pension (C&P) evaluations when applicable
Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions for surgical and clinical patients
Follow all VA medication policies and procedures
Procedural Experience Preferred
Candidates should be comfortable performing:
Major lymphatic and abdominal procedures
Prostate, urethral, ureter, bladder, kidney, penis, scrotum, and testes procedures
Endoscopic procedures
Fluoroscopy
Holmium laser procedures
ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy)
Robotics certification is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Current, unrestricted physician license in any U.S. state or territory
North Dakota license preferred but not required
Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU)
Completion of an approved Urology residency program with at least 3 years devoted to urological surgery
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Current DEA registration
Current NPI number
Malpractice insurance coverage is required
Must maintain all continuing education and credentialing requirements
