Senior Cost Specialist – EPC Energy & Utility Projects We are seeking a Senior Cost Specialist to play a pivotal role in managing the financial performance of large, multi-year EPC energy and utility projects. This hands-on, high-impact position gives you the opportunity to influence project success and support strategic decision-making across transmission, substation, renewable, and utility construction projects. What You'll Do Track, analyze, and control project costs, including budgets, forecasts, and cost trends Develop and update Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC) Identify cost deviations, trends, and risks, escalating potential issues early to project leadership Support change management processes, including change orders and budget transfers Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance with execution plans Prepare clear, actionable cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts Utilize tools such as JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting Serve as a trusted cost advisor, contributing to continuous improvement in cost control practices Who You Are 4+ years of experience in project cost control or project controls within EPC, construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure projects Strong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis Experienced in capital project environments (not corporate or manufacturing accounting) Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred Able to translate complex cost data into actionable insights for project leadership Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience Willing to travel domestically up to 10% What You'll Get Competitive salary and weekly pay Generous PTO and paid holidays 401(k) with company match Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Mentoring, professional development, and career growth opportunities This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-focused environment and wants to make a tangible impact on multi-year EPC projects.
