Senior Counsel - Travel Insurance [Hybrid - NYC Metro - In-house]Our client, a top-tier A.M. Best A+ rated global P&C insurance carrier, is seeking an attorney to join its legal team supporting its Travel Insurance and broader Specialty P&C business. This is a highly business-integrated role working directly with product, underwriting, distribution, claims, and executive leadership teams to support the development and ongoing management of travel protection and related insurance offerings.The role sits within a dynamic and fast-growing Travel Insurance division operating as part of a larger P&C platform, and is ideal for attorneys who enjoy being close to the business, product innovation, and commercial deal execution within a regulated insurance environment.This is a hands-on, high-visibility position with strong exposure across product, regulatory, commercial, and operational legal workstreams. Role & ResponsibilitiesServe as primary legal advisor to Travel Insurance business units within a leading P&C carrier. Partner with product, underwriting, claims, and distribution teams on product development and lifecycle management. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and insurance-related agreements, including:Distribution agreementsVendor and third-party service agreementsProgram and partnership agreementsMGA and delegated authority arrangementsReinsurance-supported program agreements where applicable QualificationsMUST HAVE 5+ years of legal experience within P&C insurance, specifically Travel insuranceMUST HAVE Juris Doctor and admission and good standing with at least one U.S. BarExperience supporting or advising insurance carriers, reinsurers, or insurance clients (in-house or law firm)Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and insurance-related agreementsFamiliarity with U.S. insurance regulatory frameworks and state DOI interactionExperience supporting insurance products, programs, or distribution arrangementsStrong ability to translate legal risk into practical, business-oriented guidanceExcellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsNice to Have:Experience in Travel Insurance, Accident & Health, or similar consumer-focused insurance productsExposure to MGA, program business, or delegated authority structuresExperience with embedded insurance or digital distribution partnershipsExposure to reinsurance-supported program structures Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $190,000 - $260,000Bonus: Competitive annual incentive programFull medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO Location & Work ModelNYC MetroHybrid work model Why This Role?This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier A+ rated global P&C insurer in a high-growth Travel Insurance business.
