Jennie Joiner with The Forum Group PNW is partnering with a growing, mission-driven nonprofit organization to hire a Director of Finance to join its leadership team.This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring strong financial stewardship across a complex, multi-location organization. The Director of Finance will partner closely with executive leadership while leading a small, experienced finance team. The organization operates with multiple funding sources, including grant and healthcare-related revenue streams, requiring strong financial oversight and compliance management. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & StrategyPartner with executive leadership to support strategic financial planning and decision-making Present financial reports and insights to leadership and Board of Directors Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Monitor financial performance and recommend improvements Accounting & Financial OperationsOversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll oversight, and financial reporting Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial statements in accordance with GAAP Maintain internal controls and financial policies Manage cash flow forecasting and financial planning Grant & Compliance OversightOversee grant accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance Ensure alignment with federal, state, and funding source requirements Support contract management and compliance (including healthcare-related funding) Monitor billing processes, including reconciliations and audit readiness Audit & ReportingLead annual audit processes, including single audit preparation Prepare and review financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise and support finance team (including Controller and Payroll functions) Provide training, coaching, and performance management Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture Support cross-functional teams with financial education and guidance QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting required 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience 3+ years of leadership or management experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage, UKG or similar preferred) Payroll experience preferred Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or grant-funded environments strongly preferred Exposure to medical billing systems is a plus Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Work Environment100% onsite role in Medford, OR Flexible scheduling with option for a 4-day workweek Business casual environment Benefits Highlights100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage (employee) 401(k) with 6% employer match after 1 year Strong PTO and work-life balance Ongoing growth and development opportunities If you're looking for a leadership role where you can make a meaningful impact while helping shape the financial future of a growing organization, we would love to connect.
