You will work closely with underwriters and cross-functional teams to evaluate borrowers, analyze property-level performance, support due diligence efforts, and help drive transactions through the closing process.\nThis role is ideal for someone who is analytical, highly organized, and eager to learn in a collaborative, execution-focused environment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAnalyze borrower, guarantor, and property financials, including tax returns, operating statements, rent rolls, and cash flow reporting\nAssist with underwriting models, credit analyses, and investment memorandums to support financing recommendations\nSupport the evaluation and structuring of real estate lending opportunities across multiple asset types\nCoordinate with internal stakeholders across underwriting, servicing, operations, legal, and capital markets to facilitate efficient deal execution\nAssist with transaction management at initial review.\nConduct market research and supply-demand analysis to support investment and credit decisions\nMaintain organized loan files, track transaction milestones, and ensure accuracy of documentation and reporting\nParticipate in borrower meetings, and due diligence reviews as needed\nContribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies across the underwriting and execution workflow\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field\n1–2 years of experience in finance, commercial real estate, lending, underwriting, or related analytical roles preferred\nStrong financial analysis and Excel modeling capabilities\nHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment\nStrong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to take initiative\nTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments\nExperience with loan underwriting, credit analysis, or real estate financial analysis is a plus\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou communicate proactively and follow through consistently\nYou take ownership of your work and operate with accountability\nYou are adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment\nYou approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset\nYou balance analytical rigor with practical execution\nYou contribute positively to team culture and collaboration\nThe Pay\nSalary for this role is $80,000-95,000 annually plus eligibility for a 15% bonus.\nThe Work Environment\nThis role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).\nOur Benefits\nWe offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and work-life balance.
