HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Operations Team as a Manager, Plant II in Pryor, OK.SummaryThe Manager, Plant II is a highly specialized and critical position accountable for contributing to HarbisonWalker Internationals overall business performance through the overall operation of the plant; ensuring safety, production, quality and capital efficiency goals are met. This role is responsible for having adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, etc).ResponsibilitiesReports to operations and executive management as requiredResponsible for plant costs and initiates corrective action if neededReviews and directs all aspects of plant quality systemControls inventories of supplies, raw materials, and finished goodsDirects plant safety programsDevelops and assigns duties / responsibilities to plant management teamAssesses and reviews performance and provides training to plant management teamRequirementsRequires B.S. in Engineering or Science, preferably Chemical or MechanicalRequires five (5) to seven (7) years refractory experience including operations, service, supervisory and management functionsRequires interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers, mechanical aptitude.Requires knowledge of refractory materials, products, and operations, Department of Labor and Environmental regulations, ASTM standards, ISO 9000 standards, and Quality Assurance principles.Requires computer operation skills (MS Office, QAD accounting system or similar productPhysical and Environmental Requirements Physical Activity: Requires more than 2/3 of time reaching; 1/3 to 2/3 of time standing, sitting, speaking/hearing; and less than 1/3 of time walking, climbing/balancing, stooping/ kneeling/ crouching/crawling, tasting/smelling.Lifting: Requires lifting up to 100 pounds less than 1/3 of time.Vision: Requires accurate close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time in an office setting; and less than 1/3 of time working near moving technical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and/or in extreme heat.Noise: Requires exposure to moderate noise.
