Any information collected there is subject to their terms and privacy notice.Job Description SummaryThe Senior Controls Engineer – Energy Storage Systems works as part of the NPI Controls Engineering Team in an international environment and will be responsible for driving innovative controls solutions for new Energy Storage initiatives and the continuous improvement of existing solutions within Solar & Storage Solutions. This includes but it is not limited to AC systems, DC systems, Power Conversion and Plant-level controls up to and including interfaces with upper level customer control systems.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesLead technical innovation and influence product direction for energy storage systems. Lead development and validation of energy storage systems including auxiliary systems e.g. chillers, BMS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration Translate business and operational requirements into technical specifications that guide system design and development. Mentor other team members and provide technical oversight for development work. Drive performance and reliability enhancements back to the product. Understand the rules and regulations associated with regional electricity markets. Support problem identification and resolution of new and installed products. Have close interaction with customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction. Interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity. Work across engineering and services organizations to prepare product-level documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations for use by internal GE employees and our customers. Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Controls from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 10 years of experience with developing software & controls, with minimum 3 years dedicated to energy storage systems. Expert-level knowledge of energy storage controls, validation and verification, formal design methodology, systems integration, advanced controls or related technologies. Experience with Matlab, Simulink, and/or Python. Desired CharacteristicsExpert in the application of GE’s MarkVIe product family and of GE’s Cimplicity software (SCADA). Experienced embedded firmware developer. Knowledge of power conversion systems and controls. Knowledge of communication networks (copper, FO) and their design, SW and Hardware. Familiarity with standard industrial protocols such as OPC-UA and Modbus, as well as standard messaging protocols such as MQTT. Technical project leadership experience. Experience working cross-functionally between Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Management, etc. Can present technical plans in voice of customer.
