Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\r\nA minimum of 2 years' experience with a state license required.\r\nAbility to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.\r\nBasic math skills are required to calculate surface areas.\r\nAbility to read and understand written instructions concerning work tasks.\r\nAbility to take appropriate corrective action when observing or becoming aware of problems.\r\nAbility to determine the appropriate tools and/or equipment needed to perform a job.\r\nMust have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.\r\nMust be able to read safety JHA's, maintenance of shop tools, methods and procedures present on drawings, and layout work.\r\nValid Texas driver's license with minimal infractions and a valid TWIC, required.\r\nAssists journeyman in installing temporary and permanent power, above ground and underground raceways, cable and wire terminations, instrumentation, electrical equipment, and medium and high voltage equipment.\r\nMoves material and equipment to work locations and helps set up work site.\r\nFollows all safety and accident prevention procedures and promotes a safe work culture for the work area by using hand and power tools, equipment, and PPE in the correct manner.\r\nInspecting the site for unsafe conditions and practices.\r\nEnsures the electrician's work complies with customer specifications.\r\nCommunicates with journeyman, foreman, general foreman, superintendent, and project manager regarding construction activities.\r\nInstall ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.\r\nOther duties as necessary.\r\nMust be able to climb, bend, sit, walk, kneel, crawl, stand, push, and pull frequently. Must maintain 3-point contact while climbing ladders. Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift, up to, 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to wear the following safety equipment when needed; life vests, ear protection, rubber gloves, leather gloves, hard hat, slicker suit, acid suit, rubber gloves, full face breathing mask, wearing full safety harness, or wearing a face shield. The heavy work will require exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.\r\nFrequently exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, working in elevated positions or in confined spaces.
