Senior Accountant, Tax & Financial Reporting
Job Summary Porch Group is seeking a Senior Accountant, Tax & Financial Reporting to support corporate tax compliance and SEC reporting. The role focuses on U.S. federal, state, and local corporate income tax, ASC 740 income tax accounting, and related financial reporting.
Responsibilities Prepare federal and state corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
Gather, analyze, and reconcile data for tax compliance filings.
Coordinate with external tax advisors for audits and compliance.
Calculate quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
Support SEC filings with tax-related disclosures.
Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with audits.
Conduct tax research and document conclusions.
Monitor tax law changes and assess impacts.
Support tax planning initiatives and special projects.
Assist financial reporting automation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with SOX controls and maintain accounting documentation.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s or Taxation preferred).
CPA license required.
3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax department.
Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate income tax compliance and ASC 740.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and complex data analysis.
Experience with corporate tax software (e.g., CorpTax) preferred.
Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred.
Familiarity with tax research platforms such as Bloomberg Tax, CCH, or Thomson Reuters Checkpoint.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail‑oriented, accurate, and compliant.
Proactive mindset and desire to improve processes.
