Since 1998, our solutions and services have helped our clients improve performance, drive cost and operational effectives, and map technology needs for tomorrow's requirements.\r\nPosition Title: C-UAS Data Analyst\r\nNumber of positions: 1\r\nLocation: Washington, DC\r\nRemote work available: No\r\nGeneral Hours of Operation: 7:00 - 9:00 AM EST to 3:00 - 6:00 PM EST\r\nClearance Level: DHS Public Trust\r\nStart Date: August/Sept\r\nIntroduction\r\nStaff will serve as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) Data Analyst responsible for analyzing unmanned aerial system (UAS) operational data, protective mission flight intercepts, and National Capital Region (NCR) UAS activity in support of daily protective operations and long-term trend analysis.\r\nMajor Duties and Responsibilities\r\nUAS Data Analysis and Trend Monitoring\r\nCollects, reviews, and analyzes daily UAS detection and intercept data for the NCR and protective trip locations.\r\nIdentifies patterns, anomalies, and emerging threats related to unauthorized UAS flights.\r\nPrepares trend analyses and develops predictive models to support proactive security postures.\r\nOperational Support\r\nProvides daily analytical products and briefings to Customer leadership regarding UAS threats, intercept activity, and operational readiness.\r\nSupports trip planning and field operations by identifying high-risk airspace sectors and potential repeat offenders.\r\nCoordinates with the Customer Branches and interagency partners (FAA, DHS, DoD) for data sharing and deconfliction.\r\nReporting and Briefings\r\nPrepares executive summaries, dashboards, and written reports on UAS and counter-UAS activity for CUSTOMER leadership.\r\nDelivers intelligence-driven assessments that inform policy, operational decisions, and resource allocation.\r\nMaintains databases and visualization tools for trend reporting and leadership decision support.\r\nPolicy and Program Development\r\nAssists in drafting SOPs and guidance for collection, analysis, and reporting of UAS activity data.\r\nRecommends program improvements, technology integration, and analytical methodologies to enhance ASD's counter-UAS mission.\r\nContributes to interagency working groups on UAS security and data standards.\r\nMust have Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)\r\nData Modeling & Statistical Forecasting: Develop predictive models to anticipate potential UAS threats using statistical techniques such as regression, clustering, and time-series analysis.\r\nApply machine learning algorithms to improve threat classification and response strategies.\r\nKnowledge of unmanned aerial systems, counter-UAS technologies, and FAA regulatory framework (Part 107, TFRs, Remote ID).\r\nAbility to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of UAS intercept data, including geospatial and trend analysis.\r\nProficiency with analytical tools and software (Excel, Power BI/Tableau, ArcGIS, or equivalent).\r\nStrong written and oral communication skills to prepare daily executive-level reports and briefings.\r\nKnowledge of interagency coordination processes (FAA, DHS, DoD) related to restricted airspace and air defense operations.\r\nAbility to work under pressure in a high-tempo protective operations environment.\r\nSupervisory Controls\r\nStaff will work under the general supervision of the CUSTOMER PMO, Counter-UAS Operations. Assignments are carried out with considerable independence, and completed products are reviewed for overall effectiveness and alignment with mission objectives.\r\nComplexity and Scope\r\nThe position requires synthesizing diverse datasets from multiple sources and developing actionable insights to support protective operations.
