Assistant Controller or Senior Fund Accountant (Credit Fund)
Coda Saerch is partnering with a global alternative asset manager with $200 billion AUM with offices located in NYC. The team is seeking to hire an Assistant Controller and a Senior Fund Accountant who will play a key role in the financial reporting, fund operations, and accounting oversight of complex credit vehicles, working closely with investment professionals, operations, and external service providers.This is a high-visibility role within a premier platform investing across direct lending, opportunistic credit, and structured solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for private credit funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of NAV reportingReview and analyze fund financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and partner capital allocationsManage relationships with third-party fund administrators, including review of deliverables and resolution of discrepanciesPerform detailed reviews of investment activity, including loan originations, repayments, PIK interest, and fee incomeEnsure proper accounting treatment for complex credit instruments, including CLOs, structured products, and bespoke lending arrangementsSupport the preparation of investor reporting, including capital account statements and performance metricsAssist with quarterly valuations in collaboration with deal teams and valuation committeesCoordinate and support the annual audit process, including preparation of supporting schedules and responding to auditor inquiriesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)From 3 to 10 years of experience in fund accounting or Big 4, preferably within private credit, private equity, or alternative asset managementStrong understanding of investment accounting concepts, including accruals, fair value measurements, and waterfall calculationsExperience working with fund administrators and overseeing outsourced accounting functionsFamiliarity with complex credit products (e.g., direct lending, distressed debt, structured credit) preferred
