Maintain and lead the security, safety, and general operation of the facility and maintain responsibility for customer interface. Manage directly or through influence a variety of personnel (both direct and indirect) by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities to meet production Quality requirements, organizational initiatives and polices.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nIs responsible for direct supervision of department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES\nOrganize and direct the manufacturing operations which ensure the most effective return on assets while meeting customer production requirements.\nEnsure production output is compliant with customer and process specifications.\nInitiate and lead activities which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital\nInspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines\nInterprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties\nAssist in the interpretation of specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements as needed\nMaintains time and production records.\nEstimates, requisitions, and inspects materials and parts sent for customer.\nImplement operational strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports WFDC strategic initiatives\nActively communicate with other Manufacturing Leads to optimize output of individual facility and output of Pathfinder Mfg.\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules\nRecommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product\nSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.\nOptimize manpower utilization through a staffing plan, people allocation to shifts, and cross training\nStudies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment -\nAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems\nManage disagreements / conflicts between employees and facilitate discussion or involve HR as appropriate\nPromote clear and consistent communication so that all personnel on all shifts are equally informed\nCommunicate all significant employee related issues to HR and departments Director.\nInterprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations\nInitiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals\nContinually improve safety culture and safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee attitudes toward safety and use of PPE.\nMonitor and maintain high standards for housekeeping in all areas to ensure safe and productive work areas\nFollow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times.\nMaintain safe working practice’s and insure area is clean and free of any possible dangerous situations.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nExperienced in the manufacturing or finishing industry\nAerospace Manufacturing experience preferred\nHigh school diploma\nAbility to Perform activities of workers supervised\nAbility to utilize computer and Microsoft Office as a productivity tool\nStrong leadership skills. Able to make independent decisions based on input\nStrong planning skills. Able to plan and request resources based on a production forecast\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles\nComfortable communicating and explaining performance metrics and any deviation from plan\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on data\nAbility to read and interpret Aerospace blue print documents\nAttention to detail\nAdaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace\nAccepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations\nWillingness to take on responsibilities and challenges\nAbility to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, basic geometry and trig skills\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions\nAbility to provide direction and guidance\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nThree years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred\n2 years supervisor experience preferred\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
