If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.\n\nJob Summary\n\nTo support production and troubleshoot activities on fully automated assembly lines for manufacturing, we’re looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Austin, TX (onsite).\n\nWhat a typical day looks like:\n\nAutomation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automation equipment in our Austin manufacturing site.\nDesign and create automated solutions using common components like PLCs, sensors, smart torque-drivers, conveyors, IIoT devices, 6-axis robots, stack lights, etc.\nProgram and deploy vision systems with enclosures to inspect product for defects.\nCreate electrical circuits for new equipment or to integrate new components on existing systems.\nSupport and troubleshoot automation cells and equipment when errors occur.\nCreate troubleshooting, user guide and maintenance documentation for deployed equipment.\nWork with vendors and maintenance team to ensure all automation equipment has appropriate spare parts, and a preventive maintenance plan.\nBecome the SME for automation solutions to identify new opportunities and deploy in new areas.\nAttend meetings with operations to help with technical knowledge on existing and potential solutions.\nDeploying systems at customer facilities and performing service work.\nTravel within the US up to 10%.\n\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team\n\nTypically requires 5+ years of relevant work experience\nRequires an Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics\nExperience programing PLCs using structured text and/or ladder logic.\nStrong background designing electrical circuits and creating schematics using CAD software.\nExperience researching and evaluating components for qualification.\nLean Six Sigma/DRM Green Belt highly preferred\nExperience designing and building automation equipment for manufacturing.\nRegulated industry documentation skills\nAbility to multitask and work under pressure situations.\nExperience programming vision based systems (Cognex,Keyence)\nUnderstanding of imaging principals, optics, and machine vision lighting.\nExperience using one of these industrial protocols (Modbus TCP, PROFINET, SLMP, EtherNet/IP)\nStrong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external teams verbally and in writing.\nAbility to learn new technologies.\n\nJS21\n\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\n\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nApplication Deadline:\n\nApplications for this job position will be accepted for at least five days following the job posting start date below and continuing until the end date below or until the position is filled.
