This position is responsible for the oversight of the estimating process for all projects bid and awarded, and will establish standardized procedures, methods, and processes for estimating and training estimating resources in the use of the same.\r\nRequirementsJob Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope.\r\nIdentify risk issues and their order of magnitude.\r\nSolicit subcontractor and/or supplier information & pricing.\r\nAssist in “Good Faith Efforts” as required.\r\nPrepares instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required.\r\nPerforms and/or manages the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budgets.\r\nPrepares conceptual budgets based on minimal information.\r\nReviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work and site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by Operations.\r\nEnsures the flow of project information is maintained and documented.\r\nReviews and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids.\r\nReviews constructability issues with operational staff.\r\nMaintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.\r\nAnalyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative.\r\nBuilds effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.\r\nActively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.\r\nPerform other related duties as needed.\r\nParticipate in the transfer of information on successful projects including the Job Kick-off Meeting.\r\nAssist in the preparation and review of work plans as requested.\r\nParticipate in periodic reviews and visits to projects as appropriate.\r\nPricing of change impacts as required.\r\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBe proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating.\r\nPossess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).\r\nAbility to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.\r\nAbility to work in a team environment.\r\nAbility to professionally communicate the basis for individual work product when in a fast-paced environment.\r\nMust be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.\r\nEffective oral and written communication skills\r\nMust be willing to travel.\r\nCandidates must possess a strong work ethic.\r\nStrong organizational, interpersonal skills.\r\nGood attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.\r\nEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED Equivalent required.
