{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"4f3dc7e20004b8535e01e36e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4f3dc7e20004b8535e01e36e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/4f3dc7e20004b8535e01e36e","title":"Ski Instructor","description":"The primary role of the position is to provide professional instruction of skiing and/or snowboarding to guests of all ages, levels and abilities throughout the season.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities/Duties\n\nProvide guests with a fun, safe, enjoyable and memorable learning experience while exploring appropriate terrain at Powderhorn\n\nTeach skiing and snowboarding to toddlers, children, teenagers and adults at various levels\n\nConduct lessons according to the standards set out by Professional Ski Instructors of America / American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA / AASI)\n\nBe knowledgeable of timing needed for lifts and teaching terrain so instructors are prompt for check-in and other lessons\n\nBe knowledgeable of the programs Powderhorn offers and carry prices and maps to share with guests\n\nKnow and teach the Skier’s Responsibility Code\n\nEnsure students’ equipment is adequate and comfortable\n\nAssist in setting-up and running special events when needed\n\nKnow the safety procedures for missing or injured students and guests\n\nUse proper radio etiquette when issued a portable radio\n\nRead and adhere to all instructions and policies in the Powderhorn Seasonal Employee Handbook\n\nProvide guidance for appropriate terrain to pursue\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nCore Skills\n\nIntermediate or above skier and/or snowboarder\n\nHonest, friendly, and enthusiastic customer service skills\n\nSafety focus in all aspects of job\n\nEnjoy working with the public\n\nEasily adapt to change in the workplace\n\nMust have excellent customer service and communication skills\n\nAbility to work well with the public.\n\nThis position is based outside and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (8200 + feet). Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 60 pounds.\n\nCertifications\n\nPSIA or AASI Certification\n\nSeasonal Orientation\n\nAll Safety Training related to position, including company-wide safety process and procedures\n\nAcknowledgement\nI acknowledge I have reviewed the content of this job description and understand that if I have any physical limitations or require any reasonable accommodation in order to perform my job, I must immediately inform Human Resources and my supervisor.
