The technician is expected to undertake general tasks which will promote seamless use of IT infrastructure in a work environment. They will work in a multi environment of places and people. All work is local to North Mississippi. Good transportation is required. This is a 1099 contract work type, and you will be responsible for paying your own taxes into the IRS. You will receive pay each week. 25 to 40 hours weekly. Normal business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm daily. Must have a reliable transportation.\nResponsibilities and Duties Software\nMaking software available to appropriate users\nInstalling and testing new software\nEnsuring the anti-virus software is installed, properly configured, regularly updated and working properly on all PC and server stations\nDistributing files as required for staff use\nMaintaining servers, firewalls, security and network hardware\nSetting up MS Office 365 for applications and email\nSetting up Wire and Wireless networks\nManaging Online Backup services and Email services\nWorking with Firewalls and configuring and services the firewalls\nHardware\nReceiving and setting up hardware\nDiagnosing and troubleshooting hardware failures\nChecking new computer equipment and installing as expected\nLiaising with external support agencies to resolve faults speedily\nLiaising with the designated personnel responsible for keeping the inventory\nMaintaining computer peripheral equipment e.g. printers, scanners, projectors and whiteboards\nMaintaining wired and wireless networks, desktop and server computers\nProviding technical support for hardware and software issues in the office\nSetting up and maintaining backup system for file servers and in-office desktop computers\nSetting up Laser Printers and Barcode Thermal Printers (Zebra, Intermec, Sato)\nNetwork Management\nChecking the network backup logs where appropriate\nCarrying out routine network maintenance tasks\nSetting up, maintaining and removing user network accounts where necessary\nPersonal Qualities\nAbility to work on their own initiative\nDemonstrate problem-solving strategies and practical knowledge\nHigh quality inter-personal skills\nBe self-motivated and passion about what they do.\nMost have a great attitude and work go with customers.\nMust be able to follow instructions very well and be a good communicator\nEducation and Qualifications\nMinimum college advanced diploma in Computer Technology or related field with emphasis on hardware / network / software.\nFamiliarity with the network infrastructure (switches, cable and patch panels, router hubs,)\nKnowledge to operate most office equipment\nA least 1-year experience in any of these areas.\nWork experience will qualify as subsute for college.\nExperience include\nOn Job training, Internships, College work, or any other related experience.\nPay is based on experience.
