Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.\n\nMain Objective:\nDesigns, develops, implement superior medical device products and systems in order to create ecstatic clients.\nWorks with the Design Engineers, Quality Engineers and Product Managers to recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and procedures.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupervises Manufacturing Engineers\nInvestigates and test in time reliability and quality improvements\nDrives automation to replace the manual process as much as possible\nDevelops and reviews process improvements by achieving efficiency and savings\nDemonstrates quality processes by reducing or maintaining scrap on or below 5%\nDevelops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.\nAnalyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.\nConfers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.\nEstimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.\nApplies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.\nWorks very close with the Design Engineers and research team and develops ideas.\nAbility to work well on a team and alone\nDevelops and measures department performance goals\nDevelops full understanding of all New Product Development\nRelays design ideas to team and Manufacturing Engineer Manager\nInterviews staff, hires and oversees staff training, responsible for staff development and management\nManages / Executes projects to support innovation / continuous improvement and growth of Operations.\nTechnical expert in manufacturing related processes and able to define, conceptualize and develop manufacturing processes to meet the needs of the business.\nSupervises, assigns, and coordinates the work of manufacturing engineering and technicians and others on project and assignments as appropriate.\nWorks within the Quality Systems and manage Engineering task required to qualify and validate processes.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor degree in Engineering required; Preferably Biomedical, Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing\n5+ years of Medical Device manufacturing experience required\nExperience managing exempt/professional level positions required\nTextile Engineering or Textile Sciences background preferred\nExperience with fabric design & manufacturing preferred\nExperience with medical textiles manufacturing preferred\nProven experience in leading process improvement projects required\nMedical device manufacturing environment preferred\nExperience in work flow optimization, work measurement, efficiencies required\nRecognized process improvement training (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred\n\nIncidental Duties:\nThe above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job.
