On - Site Safety Representative (MSHA Site)
The On-Site Safety Representative is responsible for promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture on active construction job sites. This role supports compliance with company safety policies, OSHA & MSHA regulations, and client requirements while working closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field personnel to prevent incidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Essential Responsibilities
Monitor daily job site activities to ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards
Maintain project level training documentation and verification of training for employees on site
Conduct site specific orientations on all employees, audit records and document via Site Docs
Conduct daily crew assessments and monthly site audits and provide documentation in Procore
Provide safety related guidance and assistance to all Foreman, Field Engineers and Superintendents
Conduct documented weekly safety meetings for the project assigned. Weekly meetings are to follow a set agenda and be documented in a consistent manner
Ensure that weekly safety meeting minutes are kept and distributed after each meeting
Ensure that crane inspections are performed and documented at required intervals to include but not be limited to annually and upon each setup
Ensure that adequate security measures are employed at the project facility and are being followed
Ensure all safety related incidents are reported and incident reports are filled out according to the Safety Policy Manual
Conduct incident investigations, including gathering witness statements; ensure thorough documentation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions and follow-up training
Assist with substance abuse testing per company polices in coordination with Superintendent and HR Training Coordinator
Attend project meetings as required to support Project Managers and Superintendents
Assist Safety Management with OSHA/MSHA inspections and investigations
Assist job site supervision with applicable permits
Review project permits and correct any issues
Review STA's daily and upload to Site Docs
Maintain open communication with all levels of site supervision and office management
Conduct or assist with new hire orientations and paperwork as needed
MSHA Site Additional Responsibilities
Support or participate in MSHA inspection and audits
Conduct MSHA site preparation checklist when a new job is started and each time assigned to a new job(Surface or Underground)
Ensure all employees and subcontractors receive required MSHA training, refreshers, and records are readily available for MSHA review
Meetings
Conduct weekly safety meetings with project level Supervision, Project Management and Corporate Safety Department
Bi-monthly virtual supervisor's meeting via MS Teams when available
Meet with Corporate Safety Department on weekly basis
Required Computer Skills/Programs
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & Access

Qualifications
An associate's degree or higher with an emphasis on construction safety or equivalent experience
Preferred Certifications include:
o OSHA 30
o OSHA 510
o STSC
o CHST
o ASP
o CSP
Continuing Education
Establish goals with individual Career Development Plan and continue with professional education and development
Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a computer in an office trailer environment.
Ability to work on construction sites which may require the ability to climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)
Stoop, kneel, crouch, lay, bend or squat and/or crawl
Certified in and proficient with operating Aerial lift on project sites
Job Site Working Conditions
May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles, loud noises, extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
May work near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery
Other
Some overtime, evenings, weekends, and or holidays may be required to meet the demands of the project
