Plant Operations Manager

This role ensures that safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets are consistently met while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, quality assurance and inventory levels to meet customer demand.- Develop and implement operational strategies that support company goals for efficiency, output, and safety.- Monitor production performance, analyze data, and implement action plans to improve process and reduce downtime.- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and FDA regulatory requirements.- HR tasks; hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and process improvements.- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.- Prepare and manage department budgets, forecasts, and operational reports.- Prepare and lead meetings.- Mentor and develop the team.- QA spot checks.Qualifications:- Self-starter with high integrity that can be counted on to work independently.- 5+ years of leadership experience (in food manufacturing a plus)- Bachelor's degree (a plus)- Strong understanding of production workflows, maintenance practices, quality and safety standards.- Proven track record in process improvement (lean methodologies, or Six Sigma a plus)- An active listener, with direct clear communication skills.- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-driven decision-making.- Hands on leader that takes ownership- HR experience is a plus.- Professional demeanorResponsible for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):- Production Efficiency: Achieve or exceed target Overall Equipment Effectiveness.- On-Time Delivery: Maintain on-time production and shipment rates at or above company standards.- Quality Performance: Reduce defect rates and increase production output through bottleneck reduction initiatives and quality oversight.- Safety Metrics: Maintain zero recordable incidents and ensure full compliance with safety policies and OSHA/industry regulations.- Cost Control: Meet or reduce operating budgets through optimized labor allocation, reduced downtime, and improved resource utilization.- Inventory Accuracy: Ensure accurate inventory levels and reduce waste through better planning and material control.- Employee Performance & Engagement: Improve team productivity, retention, and training compliance for all direct reports.- Lean Implementation: Drive and track continuous improvement process.50 hours per week, Day shift, Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 6:00 pmSalary: $100k-$120k depending on experience/qualificationsTo apply, please email your resume and cover letter to *** We offer priority of service for veterans and eligible spouses in all employment, training, and placement services.
