The Die Cutter Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor. The Die Cutting Operator is responsible for all activities associated with the operation, set-up, cleaning, preventative maintenance and safe operation of our flatbed die cutters. Also, the die cut operator is empowered to recommend improvements to the processes, procedures, and/or operation.\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:\n\nInspect all dies before and after each run to ensure that all repairs are made before the next run.\nMaximize the utilization of the equipment by operating the machinery at peak capacity and speed.\nMonitor and adhere to specifications for each customer order and ensure quality is in accordance with all required specifications.\nMaintains machine and parts in daily operations.\nUnderstand machine set-up techniques for the Die Cutter.\nOwns outbound die cut quality and maintains food safety through handling of outbound pallet.\nMake minor machine adjustments and assist with major machine adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.\nFollow 5S standards according to visual aids in the department.\nMaintains production records, adheres to schedules and monitors output targets for each job.\nOther duties related to day-to-day issues that may arise, as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.\nAbility to work overtime as the job requires.\nOTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:\n\nMaintains a clean and safe work area and reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor for resolution.\nAdheres to all safety policies, including always wearing required PPE, and sets an example to others for model safety behavior.\nReports any major quality or food safety issues to Supervisor.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS:\n\nHigh School degree or GED.\nExperience working in a manufacturing environment.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS:\n\nExperience operating manual and electric pallet jacks.\n1 year experience as a Die Cutting Assistant.\nREQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):\n\nKnowledge of how to perform basic quality checks.\nMust follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines.\nTeam-oriented mindset.\nTake direction from Shift Supervisor.\nBasic mechanical knowledge.\nRead and understand instructions and job information.\nDesire to accept additional responsibility and learn new tasks.\nWork in accordance with all company policies and procedures.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS:\n\nFluent in English required.\nFluency in Spanish a plus.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nConstant standing, walking, talking, hearing; occasional sitting; specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. The position also requires the ability to stand 90% of shift and lift up to 45 pounds.
